Overview. Desmoid tumors are noncancerous growths that occur in the connective tissue. Desmoid tumors most often occur in the abdomen, arms and legs. Another term for desmoid tumors is aggressive fibromatosis. Some desmoid tumors are slow growing and don’t require immediate treatment.
